DEVISION OF MATURED PLANTS |
The best time to devide plants is during April to May. Why? Because it is cooler now, less water would be lost by the plants that has been devided. Remember that after deviding most of the succers will have less roots available to take up water.
Try to reduce the damage to the roots to a minimum. Only remove succers if it has enough roots of it's own. Suckers must be cut off with a sterilised tool. Treat the cut with neat Bravo (active ingredient Chlorothalonil, 500g/litre). Let the plant lie in a cool shaded place for a few days before planting.
